About Camp Akita
Camp Akita is a Youth Camp & Christian Retreat Center along the Spoon River in Central Illinois. Owned and operated by the Illinois Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. It is one of Illinois Conference’s greatest resources for reaching children, youth and adults. In addition to hosting an abundance of youth and Pathfinder events during the year, it is also home to the summer youth-camp program. The focus of this program is to give young people an opportunity to experience God’s nature and exciting activities wrapped up in an environment that is unashamedly Christian.
The camp is available for use by members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and the community.
The camp has facilities for:
• Seminars
• Retreats
• Family Reunions
• Weddings
Formerly, the Fellheimer Scout Reservation, a Christian atmosphere is provided where every camper will experience safety, recreation, fellowship, and unforgettable fun!
Camp Akita is also a place for church groups, conference groups, youth teams, and families to come for a retreat. Nearly every weekend people come to be refreshed by great fellowship and the camp’s natural beauty. Many fun activities are also available including waterfront activities, a climbing wall, zip-line,
a high-ropes course, mountain bikes, horseback riding, wagon rides and much more.
Our hope is that the type of opportunities for training, ministry, and service for all people in Illinois will abound so that they will be part of finishing the work God has given us as a church to accomplish.
